SummaryConstruction and Support of the Anvil Cluster. This person would get familiar with how to build (storage, nodes, sys and scheduling) tasks in building the Anvil Cluster.
Job DescriptionA student in this position will primarily be working alongside HPC System Engineers and Data Center Staff assisting them to do hardware and software installation, OS configurations, and other system administration tasks on Anvil resources. Occasional programming/scripting projects (Perl, Python, shell) will be available. The ability to quickly learn new technologies, good written/verbal communication skills is essential. An interest in high performance computing (HPC) and self-motivation is a plus.
Experience:

Experience using Linux/Unix systems in a command-line environment.
Familiarity or interest in configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Salt, or Ansible.
Familiarity using scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Perl, Ruby or similar.
Computational ResourcesThis person would be directly involved with the Anvil Cluster starting in October of 2020. They will have access to assist in building, deploying and assisting with users of the Anvil Cluster.
